Disconnecting a Library or List from Taxonomy
15/06/2026
You can disconnect libraries or lists connected to a Graph Modeling taxonomy. You can also choose to keep or delete existing tags.
Follow the steps below to remove a library or list from a taxonomy:
Select Connection settings on the Graphwise for SharePoint Administration page.
On the Connected libraries and lists tab, select the pencil icon in the Edit column for the connection you want to remove.
Note
You can connect a library or list to multiple Graph Modeling taxonomies and concept schemes. You can also connect the same taxonomy multiple times to the same library or list, each with unique settings. Each connection is listed as a separate entry.

To disconnect a library or list while preserving the Graph Modeling tags, go to Disconnect from taxonomy(3) and select Disconnect from taxonomy preserving tags.
To disconnect a library or list and remove the Graph Modeling tags and tag field, select Disconnect from taxonomy deleting tags.

If Term Store-based tagging (a.) is not enabled for Managed Metadata fields, confirm with Disconnect.
If Term Store-based tagging (b.) is enabled, do the following:
Click the arrow next to Disconnect.
Disconnect the library or list from the Graph Modeling taxonomy. Choose whether to preserve or delete the Term Store tags and their associated SharePoint-native Managed Metadata fields.

Note
If you keep the Term Store tags in Managed Metadata fields they become editable.
