How to Create a Search Space

This section describes how to create search spaces in GraphSearch on the Admin Dashboard. A search space is a custom configuration that defines how search results are displayed. Configurable underlying settings include the search server, thesaurus, and custom scheme.

Additional settings allow you to define mappings for titles, descriptions, and images based on the custom scheme's URIs. Depending on the selected search server, other options may include RSS agents, custom fields, or index export

Click the + (1) icon shown after all the tabs for already defined search spaces

This opens the Create Search Space dialog with all the mandatory settings you need to specify for the new search space .

Tip

All mandatory input fields are highlighted by a trailing asterisk (*) after the name of the field.

1	Search Space Name^*	Enter the name for your new search space here.
2	Search Space Access Type^*	This a pulldown where you can specify whether the access to search space is PRIVATE or PUBLIC.
3	Select Search Server^*	This pulldown lists all available servers; this can be your external instance of GraphDB, or a project; by selecting a project you select its thesaurus. This server will be used as a basis for all search operations using the new search space. This setting determines which projects (thesauri) and custom schemes can be used for the new search space.
4	Add Search Space Facet Models^*	This pulldown lists all available models; facet models are thesauri or custom schemes existing in your PoolParty instance. You can select one or more models.

With a click on Save (5) you complete the creation of a new search space. If you click Cancel (5) all inputs will be discarded and you abort the operation.

Note

This list may be extended with additional optional fields after having selected the Search Server (3)

The image below shows additional optional fields (2 and 3) which appeared after having selected the seach server (1):

In our example we selected ELASTICSEARCH as the search server (1). Here the additional optional input fields are Add Search Space Document Models (2) and Add Search Space RDF Graphs

Depending on the selected search server some optional fields will become available in this dialog. The selected search server also defines all other options you can define for your search space such as

2	Add Search Space Document Models	Selectable from a list which is determined by the selected search server; one or more models can be selected. These models are thesauri or custom schemes.
3	Add Search Space RDF Graphs	Enter here the URI definitions pointing to RDF graphs inside an external graph database (GraphDB).
