This page lists the questions users commonly ask about the Graphwise for SharePoint solution together with their answers.
PoolParty for SharePoint Tagging
Manual, automated, semi-automated.
Auto-tagging in Graphwise for SharePoint is a feature that automatically assigns relevant tags to items in your document libraries and lists based on their content. This can save you time and effort compared to manual tagging, and it can also help to improve the accuracy and consistency of your tagging.
When you connect a SharePoint list or library to a PoolParty taxonomy, an in-app wizard guides you through the process of setting up parameters controlling how tags will be extracted and displayed in the document libraries and lists. Once the initial connection is done, you can still change some of the tagging parameters in the Connection settings section.
User can choose to preserve or reset them.
Yes, you can. Use the Manage tags dialog to search and select concepts from the connected taxonomy. Confirm your selection and save. Manually added tags appear orange and persist even after auto-tagging (unless you choose to reset them).
No, tags must be chosen from existing concepts.
Navigate to the library or list with tagged items. If you select a tag, you will see a list of all items that have been assigned that tag. This feature provides a convenient way to review and manage content associated with specific tags.
Yes, you can delete all tags of a certain item. You can also delete individual tags you added manually. You do not have this option for automatically extracted tags but you can mark them as unwanted.
Graphwise for SharePoint Search Search
Graphwise for SharePoint Search is an application for semantic search. It uses concepts from connected PoolParty taxonomies instead of keywords, enabling more precise and relevant results.
Navigate to the designated page and select the relevant taxonomy (if applicable).
To further refine your search results, you can select additional concepts to serve as search filters. The number in brackets next to the concepts indicates the number of items tagged with each concept.
Yes, enable the Include full text search results checkbox.
Click on any tag displayed under the results or within the info box to restart the search centered on that tag. Tags also provide context to the search result, allowing you to explore the knowledge graph.
Graphwise for SharePoint Term Store Synchronization
Term Store synchronization is one of the features of the Graphwise for SharePoint Administration application. It allows you to manage your taxonomies centrally in PoolParty and then conveniently push the changes to Term Store with a single click while preserving the mapping between Term Store IDs and PoolParty concept URIs.
If you have previously managed your taxonomies in Term Store, it also supports you with an initial import to PoolParty.
Use the Sync with Term Store option in the Graphwise for SharePoint Administration application, specifying the term group name. If you have already synchronized a taxonomy before, use the Update option.
Time depends on taxonomy size. You can leave the app while it runs or follow the progress on the Synchronization results tab (select Refresh to see the progress).
No, you need to trigger the update manually. Select the term group on the Synchronization results tab and click the Update icon. This process preserves the mapping between Term store IDs and concept URIs in PoolParty.
Graphwise for SharePoint Installation and Configuration
Graphwise for SharePoint is a SharePoint Framework (SPFx) solution comprising the Graphwise for SharePoint Administration web part, Graphwise for SharePoint Search web part, and the Graphwise for SharePoint Command Bar and Views extension. It communicates with SharePoint using the CSOM and Microsoft Graph API services and with the PoolParty server via functions deployed to Microsoft Azure.
The process involves installing the Graphwise for SharePoint Administration application and the Graphwise for SharePoint Search application. It includes steps such as creating sites, app catalogs, deploying packages, configuring authentication, and deploying Azure functions.
The application delegates identity and access management to Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory). You need to create an app registration, set up API permissions, generate a certificate, and create and configure the Azure Key Vault.
You'll need a SharePoint Online account, Azure portal access, PoolParty 9.5+, specific licenses, and an installer matching your PoolParty version.
