Graph Modeling-based vs. Term Store-based Tagging with Graphwise for SharePoint

Graphwise for SharePoint enables users to tag content in SharePoint document libraries and lists using concepts from both Graph Modeling and Term Store. Graph Modeling tags are stored in multiple lines of text columns, while Term Store tags appear in dedicated Managed Metadata columns for each item.

Tip

To only use the Term Store-based tagging, hide the column with the Graph Modeling tags or disconnect the library or list from the Graph Modeling taxonomy (you can also select the option to preserve Term Store tags).

  • The fields are read-only and reflect any changes you make to the Graph Modeling tags as long as they remain connected to a Graph Modeling taxonomy

  • Tags become manually editable, you can delete and add new ones from the term set, if you disconnect the library or list from the taxonomy while preserving Term Store tags
