Upgrading Elasticsearch to version 9.2.4
27/04/2026
To ensure compatibility across all Graphwise components the new version of Graph Modeling (formerly PoolParty) only supports Elasticsearch version 9.2.4. If you are using a different version of Elasticsearch or do not want to use the automated migration from your version in the course of migration to 10.2, you can refer to the procedure below describing the individual steps of manual upgrade of Elasticsearch to version 9.2.4.
You can also refer to the original Elasticsearch documentation describing the additional preparation steps when upgrading from version 8.x.
As the upgrade to version 9.2.4 is only possible if you are already using Elasticsearch 8.19.13 or higher the procedure below also lists a step covering an upgrade to version 8.19.x.
Warning
Remember to create a backup of your existing indices before starting any upgrade in order to be able to be able roll back.
Tip
If you are already using Elasticsearch 8.18.0 and upgrade to 9.0.x is supported. If you are however upgrading from an earlier ES version, you will have to upgrade Elasticsearch to 8.19 release first.
