Graphwise for Adobe Experience Manager 1.0
This section contains release notes for the most recent version of Graphwise for Adobe Experience Manager (GW4AEM). This release introduces taxonomy synchronization and auto-tagging for AEM bringing Graph Modeling taxonomies and content enrichment capabilities directly into the AEM authoring experience. The release establishes the foundation for keeping AEM taxonomies aligned with Graph Modeling through full and incremental synchronization while preserving rich concept metadata, multilingual content and governance information.
In addition to synchronization, the introduction of auto-tagging for Pages and Content Fragments enables organizations to apply taxonomy terms automatically based on content analysis. Configurable scheduling and annotation locations provide flexibility in how tagging is applied allowing teams to balance automation with operational requirements.
Together, these capabilities help organizations maintain consistent taxonomy structures, reduce manual metadata management, and ensure that taxonomy changes are reflected accurately across AEM repositories with emphasis on taxonomy fidelity, enforced governance and enterprise-scale reliability.
Area | Enhancements |
|---|---|
Synchronization | Full and incremental taxonomy synchronization |
Auto-tagging | Automated tagging for Pages and Content Fragments |
Metadata preservation | Rich taxonomy metadata and multilingual support |
Governance | Audit logging and controlled change management |
Scalability and reliability | High-volume synchronization with resilient recovery |
Full and incremental sync:
The core capability of this release. A full sync establishes taxonomy parity, while incremental sync applies only changes made since the last successful run. When no changes exist, no updates are written to AEM. All other capabilities depend on this targeted synchronization model.
URI-based matching:
Existing tag nodes are updated by concept URI rather than deleted and recreated. Content references stay intact, tag history is preserved, and duplicates are avoided without manual retagging.
SKOS semantic preservation:
Concept URIs, labels, definitions, scope notes, hierarchy, editorial status and custom properties are preserved during synchronization rather than being reduced to simple tag paths.
Governance enforcement:
Graph Modeling remains the source of truth. Manual edits to manages tags are overwritten on the next sync, conflicts resolve in favor of Graph Modeling, and every override and revert is recorded in the audit log.
Taxonomy lifecycle handling:
Adds, renames, moves, archives and merges are handled safely. Renames preserve stable references, moves update hierarchy without duplication, archives retain historical references, and merges consolidate terms while retagging affected content.
Audit logging:
Create, update, move, archive, merge, conflict override, manual edit revert and error events are logged with term ID, label, timestamp and action type. Logs can be downloaded from the AEM UI.
Multilingual Metadata:
Multilingual labels are supported through language-suffixed properties. Translation additions, updates and removals are synchronized across sync cycles, ensuring consistent metadata across all locales.
Scale, Resilience and Platform Readiness:
Validated for taxonomies of 50,000+ concepts, with headroom to 100,000. Full sync completes in under 15 minutes, while incremental syncs of up to 500 changes complete in under 5 minutes. Interrupted syncs recover cleanly without duplicates or data loss.
Auto-tagging Foundation:
This release introduces auto-tagging for Pages and Content Fragments. Synchronized AEM content paths are registered as annotation locations and administrators can configure how often content is submitted for auto-tagging.
